Special Weather Statement Statement as of 2:22 PM PST on November 26, 2009

A band of rain and snow will move into northwest Nevada Friday
morning and spread south to Interstate 80 by early afternoon.
Precipitation will continue to push south across Mono and Mineral
counties Friday evening and Saturday. Most areas will see a period
of 12 hours or less of precipitation.

Precipitation will begin as rain in the lower valleys with
locations above 5000 feet seeing snow. Snow levels will drop to
valley floors from Highway 50 north Friday evening and south of
Highway 50 overnight.

Foothill locations above 500o feet could see snow accumulations of
up to 5 inches or so with areas west of Highway 395 in Mono
County getting higher amounts. Snow accumulations in lower
valleys of western Nevada will range from less than an inch east
of Lovelock and Fallon to up to 3 inches elsewhere.

Travel will become slick and hazardous across far northwest Nevada
early Friday and from Highway 50 north by Friday evening. Travel
conditions will deteriorate overnight from Highway 50 south.
